Dorothy was raised in Corpus Christi, TX. When she was in her early twenties, after the birth of her children, she became aware of her passion for photography and her ability to document meaningful glimpses of life. Through realizing the speed of which her children grew, a desire to recapture as soon as through photography was born. She had the capacity to catch that glimmer of personality that comes out in a look of the attention or a pose of the mouth, and she developed a craving to recapture those shots.

Before this point and upon graduating from high school, Dorothy modeled professionally for Ford Models; a job which took her all over the world for four years. After which it time, she settled into an education at Columbia University in New York City. Her background in modeling afforded her several Picartshop hours before the camera, that has given her the ability to instruct her clients in obtaining an all natural posture that leads to offering one’s personality on camera.

Dorothy is self-taught in both her photography and painting, and has a sense of adventure and play that allows her to yield an item that is saturated in life, individually and creatively, not unlike her subjects. It’s Dorothy’s desire to create art that resembles life in most it’s beauty, uniqueness and depth.
